The Clampetts Are Coming to The CAM.
Well, doggies! The Clampetts are packing up and heading to Beverly Hills, and they’re making a stop right here in Buchanan County!
The Theatre Guild of Buchanan County is preparing to bring one of television’s most beloved families to life when The Beverly Hillbillies takes the stage at The CAM October 15–18. With a talented cast of familiar faces and newcomers, plenty of laughs, and a very special opening-night celebration, this is one production you won’t want to miss.
For generations, audiences have loved the story of Jed Clampett, a humble mountain man who strikes oil and suddenly finds himself a millionaire. With his newfound fortune, Jed packs up Granny, Elly May, and Jethro and moves the family to a mansion in Beverly Hills. Of course, money may buy a fancy house, but it certainly doesn’t change the Clampetts! Their down-home ways and encounters with high society create one hilarious situation after another.
Bringing this iconic family to life on The CAM’s stage is a cast that has already generated tremendous excitement on social media.
Wade Vance will take on the role of Jed Clampett, the levelheaded patriarch who somehow manages to keep his eccentric family together. Joining him are Penny Nimmo as the feisty and opinionated Granny, Andrea Lee as the sweet and spirited Elly May, and Dennis Dales as Jethro Bodine, whose grand ambitions and questionable judgment are sure to keep audiences laughing.
And what would the Clampetts be without their Beverly Hills neighbors? Noah Barton will portray Mr. Drysdale, the banker determined to keep Jed’s millions in his bank, while Jennifer Hyatt takes on the role of Mrs. Drysdale. Nicole Shrader rounds out the familiar Beverly Hills characters as the ever-efficient Miss Hathaway.
Our talented supporting cast includes Jacob Hess as Brewster/Colonel Foxhall, Shawn Justice as George Turner/Frank Richards, Bee Hughes as Percy Pennyweather, Joanie Griffith as Mrs. Pennyweather/Cousin Pearl, Sophie Bales as Gloria Mundy, Kurtlyn Thomas as Emaline Fetty, Gabby Casterline as Frederika Collins, Aliyah Armendariz as Groovy Monahan, Shenna Viers as Mr. Oglethorpe, and Sherry Keen as Mrs. Stokely-Smythe.
With a cast this large and a story filled with colorful characters, audiences can expect an evening of comedy, confusion, and good old-fashioned entertainment.
Opening night is October 15th, and we’re turning the evening into a special ticketed event featuring dinner, pre-show entertainment, and, of course, The Beverly Hillbillies.
This is an opportunity to make a whole evening of your visit to The CAM. Come enjoy a meal, settle in for some entertainment, and then watch as the Clampetts trade their mountain home for a Beverly Hills mansion.
For those who prefer our traditional theatre experience, regular performances will continue Friday through Sunday, October 16–18.
If the response to our recent cast announcements is any indication, the Clampetts are going to have quite a welcoming committee when they arrive in Buchanan County.
Our cast spotlight posts have generated an incredible amount of interest, and we fully anticipate that some performances will sell out. We encourage everyone planning to attend to purchase tickets early, particularly those interested in our special opening-night event.
Whether you grew up watching Jed, Granny, Jethro, and Elly May on television or you’re being introduced to this unforgettable family for the first time, The Beverly Hillbillies promises an entertaining trip down memory lane, with plenty of laughs along the way.
Gather your family, invite your friends, and join us at The CAM for a little mountain hospitality, Beverly Hills style. We can’t promise you’ll strike oil, but we can promise you’ll leave with a smile.
