A Buchanan County man died last Monday evening after an all-terrain vehicle overturned on Bearwallow Road, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Aug. 3.
State police said Paul S. Perkins, 64, of Jewell Ridge, was operating a 2020 Axis 500 ATV westbound on Bearwallow Road when the vehicle stalled and began rolling downhill.
According to investigators, the ATV traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned and came to rest against a tree.
Perkins died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Virginia State Police is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
