Residents throughout Buchanan County and the surrounding area are invited to attend the Generations United Revival. This free three-night community event begins Thursday, Aug. 6, at Roger and Susie Rife Park in Southern Gap.
The outdoor revival will be held Aug. 6-8, with services beginning each evening at 7 p.m. The event will feature messages from Joel Horn, pastor of The Anchor at Souls Harbor; J.T. Harman, pastor of Oakwood Full Gospel Church; and Whitewood native Stephen Ward. Worship will be led by Ward and his wife, Lori.
Organizers encourage those attending to bring a lawn chair for the outdoor services.
Ward, who was raised in Whitewood before starting full-time ministry, now tours nationally with his wife through The Living Room Movement, a ministry they established in 2016. The couple conducts worship services, revival meetings, and church events, inspiring others to deepen their faith.
As he heads back to Buchanan County, Ward wishes for the revival attendees to encounter more than merely an evening of music and sermons.
“I believe people can expect more than just a concert,” Ward said. “They can expect an authentic encounter with God. My heart is that people experience His presence, healing, hope and the reality of miracles, signs and wonders.”
The revival is open to everyone, regardless of church affiliation, and is intended to bring people of all ages together for three evenings of worship, encouragement and fellowship.
Admission is free. For more information, contact Jerry Ward at 276-935-5672.
