Students in Buchanan County will have an opportunity to receive a free haircut before classes begin.
A free back-to-school haircut event is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverview Elementary/Middle School.
The event is open to all students and will offer free haircuts on a walk-in basis. No appointments are required.
Organizers hope the event will help students head back to the classroom feeling confident and ready for the new school year while easing the financial burden many families face during back-to-school season.
The event’s theme, “Fresh Look. New Start.” encourages students to begin the school year looking and feeling their best.
Students will be served on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the four-hour event.
The free haircuts are part of ongoing community efforts to support local students as they prepare to return to school for the 2026-27 academic year. Organizers encourage families to arrive early, as the event is expected to draw students from across the area.
