Area golfers will once again have the opportunity to hit the links while supporting a longtime community tradition as the Buchanan County YMCA prepares to host its 35th annual golf tournament later this month.
The tournament is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14, at Willowbrook Country Club in Grundy.
Registration will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The annual event is one of the Buchanan County YMCA’s signature fundraisers, bringing together golfers from across the region for a day of friendly competition while supporting the YMCA’s youth programs and community initiatives.
The tournament will feature a two-player Captain’s Choice format with teams divided into four flights based on average team handicap, allowing golfers of all skill levels to compete against similarly matched teams.
In addition to tournament play, participants will have the chance to compete for hole-in-one prizes, while trophies and special awards will be presented following the competition. A buffet dinner will also be provided for participants.
Golfers interested in participating are encouraged to register before the event. Additional information is available by contacting the Buchanan County YMCA at (276) 935-8871.
The Buchanan County YMCA is located in Grundy and provides a variety of youth, family, wellness and community programs throughout the year. The golf tournament helps support those ongoing efforts while bringing together golfers for one of the area’s longest-running charitable sporting events.
