I’m not sure what happened; I haven’t found out yet, but our church service wasn’t on YouTube or Facebook today. Brother Ronnie Sliger brought the message; I found that out. I’m still looking!
Harman Freewill Baptist Church has announced the dates for their upcoming Vacation Bible School. The theme is Glow Go Light Our World! It will be held July 26, 27 and 28 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
I went to Walmart Monday looking for bottles to feed the kittens, thinking it would be easier; it isn’t. I went back to the syringes; they’re starting to eat kitten food and use the litter box. I’m such a proud foster mom.
Ray was determined to go to the movies Tuesday night, and he made it. I dropped him off and went to get something to eat. It was busy. Lots of kids running around; I love it.
The mobile food truck, Feeding Southwest Virginia, an equal opportunity provider, was at the Council Park. They served 103 households.
We went to Bristol Thursday, no doctor’s appointment, just because we need to get out of the house. We ate lunch at Cracker Barrel, turkey and dressing Thursday. A group of friends had gotten us a Cracker Barrel gift card, and we enjoyed it. A get-well card was with it, and everyone had signed it along with sweet messages; those were good days and good memories.
Friday we had visitors. We don’t get many of those. It was so good just sitting and talking.
I got up Saturday morning and found one of my kittens down. I checked it and gave it extra TLC, and within an hour it was running around just fine. When I put it back with the others, I discovered the two bigger kittens were being little bullies. She’s the runt of the litter, and they decided to jump on her back. I’ll have to watch her very carefully. They’ll be ready in about three weeks; I’ve found homes for two of them.
Today is the 28th anniversary of my brother’s death. That was my first thought this morning.
Reminder: Feeding my Sheep will be doing their giveaway Saturday, July 18. The giveaway starts about 9 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. Because of construction at the old Russell Prater School, cars will line up near the old Sykes building (current EOC) on Southern Gap. Someone will be there to assist you.
Reminder: the Buchanan County Humane Society will be having a pet food giveaway at the office location behind (the old) Grundy High School on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. until noon or until they run out. One bag of dog food and one bag of cat food per vehicle. Must have proof of Buchanan County residency. For your safety, please stay in your vehicle.
Reminder: the Buchanan County Humane Society will have a Back-to-School yard sale at our office behind (the old) Grundy High School on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. until noon. All clothing is $1 an item.
I saw this morning that Hensen has lost his battle with cancer but is healed now, safe in the arms of Jesus. O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. Psalm 30:2 KJV. Please pray for his family and friends as they grieve.
