ELMER STILTNER, 66, of Prater section of Vansant, VA, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Roscoe Stiltner Jr. and Lousie (Coleman) Stiltner. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Christian faith. Elmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and watching westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Brother: Franklin Stiltner; Sisters: Francis Stiltner, Loretta Yates and Fayetta Yates; Half-Brother: Kenny Stiltner.
Those left to cherish his memory include Sisters: Rosetta McCoy of Prater, VA, Glennia Justice (Danny Elswick) of Slate Creek, VA, Emretta (Stanley) Stacy of Slate Creek, VA; Half-Brother: Ernie Stiltner; Half-Sister: Wanda Ratliff.
Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his niece, Amber Coleman for her care during his sickness. Also, to his nephew James McCoy and niece Sandra Coleman for being there for him.

Due to his wishes, Elmer is being cremated.
