Nine students from the Buchanan County Tae Kwon Do program participated in a rank advancement test on May 27 at the Buchanan County YMCA.

The Buchanan County Tae Kwon Do class focuses on more than physical training, emphasizing personal growth, discipline and respect.

“Our class teaches discipline, the value of hard work, and how to show self-respect to others and those in authority,” Sensei Billy Mullins said.

Classes are held each Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the YMCA.

“Our classes meet once a week, on Wednesdays, and last for one hour,” Mullins added. “Classes run from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Class is open for ages three and up. We have a large open dojo on the second floor of the YMCA. We use pads and foam during drills. We believe confidence, discipline, and strength are the core of an outstanding martial arts school. We are dedicated to providing exceptional standards of practice through our facilities and classes. Sign up and join our class today.”

Those interested in joining the program may register through the Buchanan County YMCA by calling 276-935-8871.
