Residents needing dental work, an eye exam or medical care will have an opportunity to receive free services when Remote Area Medical brings a two-day clinic to Riverview Elementary/Middle School Oct. 17-18.
The Buchanan County School Board unanimously approved closing Riverview to students Oct. 16 to accommodate the clinic. North Grundy District member Angie McClanahan made the motion during the board’s Sept. 15 meeting, and Knox District member Tommy Blankenship seconded it.
The clinic will be held at the school, located at 27382 Riverside Drive in Grundy. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. No identification is required.
The parking lot will open at 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. The clinic will open at 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Available dental services include cleanings, fillings, extractions and dental X-rays.
Vision services include complete eye exams, eye health evaluations and prescription glasses made on-site.
Medical services include physical exams, prescription consultations, women’s health services and general exams.
The event gives people who need care a chance to address health concerns without the cost of a visit, whether they need a tooth treated, their vision checked or a medical examination.
