They say laughter is the best medicine, and on Saturday, Oct. 3, The CAM is bringing stand-up comedy to its stage for the first time.
East Tennessee native Trav Stevenson will bring his relatable Appalachian humor to Buchanan County. From the quirks of small-town living to the characters we all know, Stevenson finds humor in the familiar.
His comedy has taken him well beyond the mountains. Stevenson has been named Best in Fest at the Blue Ridge Comedy Festival, the Laugh Out Loveland Festival in Colorado and the Rubber City Comedy Festival in Ohio. He has also opened for nationally recognized comedians, including Mark Normand.
One of our goals at The CAM is to offer our community a wider variety of entertainment. Live theater will always be at the heart of what we do, but we have enjoyed bringing people together for new experiences. From our Third Thursday Summer Concert Series to our recent karaoke nights, we have seen how much our community appreciates a night out close to home.
We hope this first comedy show becomes another regular entertainment option at The CAM. After all, who couldn’t use a good laugh?
Doors, concessions and the cash bar open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. Attendees must be at least 18 years old. Stevenson’s act includes some coarse language and suggestive humor, though it is not considered raunchy. Think of it as a night out for the grown-ups.
Bring your spouse, round up your friends or make it a date night. Whether you are a stand-up comedy fan or have never been to a live show, we would love to see you there.
Keep up with everything happening at The CAM on our social media pages or at www.seeyouatthecam.com. You can also purchase tickets on the website to reserve your seat. See you at The CAM.
