I believe America is on a collision course if we do not change course before it is too late.
The Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic at 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912. More than 1,500 people lost their lives. The official death toll is 1,514. They had been warned, but they did not take heed.
The Titanic received a series of warnings from other ships about drifting ice in the area on April 14, 1912, the day of the disaster. The Titanic received seven iceberg warnings. The Titanic’s wireless operators told the Californian’s operator to shut up, and the warnings were ignored.
It has long been known that the Titanic’s lookouts lacked binoculars during their voyage across the Atlantic. It is often claimed that if they had them, they would have spotted the iceberg in time to change course and prevent the disaster.
Instead, Captain Smith disregarded multiple iceberg warnings and maintained a high speed of 22.5 knots in treacherous waters. He failed to relay all the ice warnings to his crew, contributing to the tragedy.
Today in America, I believe we are sailing in treacherous waters. Few are voicing warnings, and those who do are ridiculed and told to shut up. They have no insight into what is coming; it is just full steam ahead.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 1:16-18 to pray that the eyes of our understanding be enlightened. Jesus wants to give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.
God said in Hosea 4:6 that his people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge.
In 2 Peter 3:9, God said he is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
God told Israel in Isaiah 65:2, “I have spread out my hands all the day toward a rebellious people who walk in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts.”
Is America becoming a rebellious people? I hope not. I pray we wake up as a nation founded on God’s word and principles, which provide a foundation for a system of belief and behavior and a chain of reasoning based on the principles of Christianity.
Psalm 11:3 asks, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
There is a force working to undermine the foundation upon which America was founded.
“In God We Trust” is our national motto. When I started school in 1960, we began our day with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Today, some people want to leave the words “one nation under God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance and remove “In God We Trust” from our money.
God said in Jeremiah 18:7, “At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up and to pull down and to destroy it.”
Verse 8 says, “If that nation against whom I have pronounced turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.”
It is time to repent and turn back to the God of our beginnings.
In Ezekiel 16:49-50, the sins of Sodom are listed before the Lord destroyed them. Verse 49 says, “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”
Verse 50 says, “And they were haughty and committed abomination before me; therefore I took them away as I saw good.”
Compare that to what we see today, and I believe you will understand the point I am trying to make.
You may ask how you can make a difference. Start by praying more and getting involved with your church and your community. If you do not vote, you need to. If you are not registered, get registered.
Nov. 3, 2026, is Election Day. There are some important amendments that we, as Christians, need to be concerned about.
Virginia Question 2 asks voters whether the state constitution should be amended to remove its same-sex marriage ban.
A “yes” vote supports amending the state constitution to remove a provision stating that marriage is between one man and one woman. It would add a provision stating that marriage is one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness. It would also prohibit the state from denying a marriage license to two adults based on their sex, gender or race.
A “no” vote opposes amending the state constitution, thus maintaining the provision defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
This issue was voted on previously. In 2006, the amendment defining marriage in Virginia as a union between one man and one woman passed with 57% of the vote. We are being asked to vote on it again.
If you believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman, then stand up, Virginia. Stand with God and vote no on Nov. 3, 2026. In doing so, you are standing with God.
Genesis 1:26-28 says God created them male and female. Verse 28 says God blessed them and told them to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.
Genesis 2:24 says God sanctions marriage between a man and a woman: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
Do we believe the God of the Bible and stand with Israel, or will we turn our backs on the Jewish people?
