Students considering a career in pharmacy have an opportunity to receive $7,500 toward their education through the Appalachian College of Pharmacy’s Priority Consideration Scholarship.
The Buchanan County-based college is accepting scholarship applications, with a deadline of Jan. 4, 2027. Prospective students do not have to wait until the deadline and are encouraged to apply early.
The scholarship is available to eligible applicants pursuing admission to ACP’s Doctor of Pharmacy program. Priority consideration candidates must submit their completed Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS) application, supplemental application, official transcripts and required fee by the deadline.
Applicants selected for consideration must interview in person at ACP and enroll at the college.
The scholarship is one of several financial aid opportunities available to students interested in becoming pharmacists. ACP supports qualified students by awarding scholarships of up to $10,000 per year based on academic merit and financial need.
In addition to the $7,500 Priority Consideration Scholarship, ACP offers the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and Advanced Standing Merit Scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year.
Students may also explore outside scholarships and grants, including the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant and the Epic Rx Pharmacy Grant. The college is also approved to offer GI Bill educational benefits through the Virginia State Approving Agency.
ACP’s three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program prepares students for careers centered on medication management, clinical care and serving patients in their communities.
The priority consideration application deadline for fall 2027 admission is Jan. 4, 2027, while the regular application deadline is June 1, 2027. Because admission to the program is competitive, the college gives priority to candidates who complete the application process early.
Complete scholarship requirements and applications are available at www.acp.edu/admissions-aid/scholarships-grants.
Anyone with questions about scholarships, grants or other financial aid opportunities may contact the ACP Financial Aid Office at [email protected] or 276-498-4190.
