One of Southwest Virginia’s biggest nights for outdoor enthusiasts is a little more than a week away.
The SWVA Sportsmen Annual Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22, at Noah Horn Well Drilling, located at 1070 Sandy Valley Lane in Oakwood. Doors will open at 3 p.m.
The banquet will bring together hunters, anglers, conservation supporters and families for an evening of food, fellowship, games and outdoor-themed prizes.
The event will feature premium firearm raffles and drawings for a variety of outdoor prizes. Guests will also have opportunities throughout the evening to support wildlife habitat, conservation and outdoor education efforts across Southwest Virginia.
Organizers say the banquet is about more than prizes. Money raised through the event will help preserve the region’s outdoor heritage, protect wildlife and provide educational opportunities for future generations.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 12 and younger.
