I went to the store Tuesday; we were out of dog and cat food. In this house, that’s serious. Walmart’s buggy escalator and elevator were both down, but the workers carried everything down for me and put it in a buggy. One of the young men went with me and put the heavy bags of dog and cat food in the truck. Good job, everyone and thank you.
I stopped at Food City on the way home and got some chicken for supper; we love their deli chicken. I saw some friends I hadn’t seen in a while and got to visit for a few minutes.
I just found out I’ve lost a dear friend, Debbie Ashby—prayers and condolences to her family and friends. The first things that come to mind when I think of her are her smile and her laugh; she was a precious lady.
Happy 18th birthday to one of my great-grands, Madison Desirae. I hope you have a wonderful day.
We’ve lost another brother in our church; Brother Jim Baker passed away. What a dear man of God he was. Pray for his family and friends.
I gave the third kitten away today; the orangey one I called Butterscotch. I know he’ll have a good home with kids and other cats, but I still almost cried. I’ve still got the little calico.
Reminder: the mobile food truck, Feeding Southwest Virginia, an equal opportunity provider, will be at the Council Park on Thursday, August 13th. The truck arrives about 9 a.m., and the giveaway starts about 10 a.m. This is a drive-thru event; stay in your car, and we will come to you.
