“Dino Academy: A Dinosaur Discovery Show” and “Alice in Wonderland” are coming to the Buchanan County Public Library Saturday, Aug 1, beginning at 11 a.m.
“We are so pleased to offer these great programs free to the people of Buchanan County,” said Children’s Librarian Teresa L. Matney. “Children and adults are sure to be delighted by these shows.”
Matney invites the community to step into the prehistoric world with Dino Academy. Led by the quirky and curious Dr. Sarah Tops, this action-packed adventure uncovers fascinating dino facts that will wow even the biggest dino fans. Featuring life-like, colorful dinosaur puppets that stomp, roar and charm their way into every heart, this show blends science, storytelling and imagination in the style of your favorite nature programs. It’s an unforgettable field trip through time—without ever leaving your seat.
Following the Dino Academy, a free lunch will be provided for those in attendance prior to the performance of “Alice in Wonderland.”
The Lewis Carroll literary classic is magically brought to life in this 45-minute adventure. Join Alice on her journey into the rabbit hole, packed with some eccentric and fantastical characters who take the audience on an imaginative ride. Since 1865, this literary classic has been a favorite among young readers. Join the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and Alice on this adventure in Wonderland.
Both programs are being presented by Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national touring company based in North Carolina.
The performances are made possible thanks in part to a grant from MALiA, the Mid-Atlantic Library Alliance.
