The Buchanan County Sports Podcast announced that Grundy High School standout and recent graduate Kate Bostic was named its Girls Tennis Player of the Year at the organization’s inaugural awards banquet.
Bostic earned the honor after an outstanding season on the court, during which she was named Black Diamond District Player of the Year and signed to further her academic and tennis career at the University of Pikeville in late May.
The Buchanan County Sports Podcast’s inaugural banquet recognized outstanding athletes, coaches and teams from across the county for their achievements during the school year. The awards banquet celebrates athletic excellence while honoring the accomplishments of student-athletes from Buchanan County’s high schools.
The Virginia Mountaineer regrets omitting Bostic’s award from its previous coverage of the banquet and is pleased to recognize her achievement.
