Student-athletes interested in playing softball at Southern Gap High School will have an opportunity to meet the program’s coaching staff and sharpen their skills during a softball clinic scheduled for Thursday, June 18.
The clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Poplar Gap Park Athletic Fields on Southern Gap and is open to potential junior varsity and varsity softball players who plan to attend Southern Gap High School.
According to Southern Gap Softball head coach Christina Bane, the clinic is designed to introduce athletes to the SGHS coaching staff and to provide instruction and skill development across various aspects of the game. Participants will have the chance to work on fundamentals and learn more about the expectations of the new softball program as Southern Gap prepares for its inaugural season.
Southern Gap High School will open this fall following the consolidation of Council, Grundy, Hurley and Twin Valley High Schools.

The clinic is one of several opportunities being offered this summer as Southern Gap coaches begin building relationships with student-athletes ahead of the school’s first year of competition.
