The good Lord woke me up this morning and I went to church. Brother Scotty Coleman brought the message. He read Luke 7:36-50 and John 9:31. Talk to the Lord, Love the Lord and Worship the Lord.
I had an appointment in Richlands Monday afternoon so I made it a fast trip there and back. I won’t go into details but God blessed me today.
Tuesday morning I got up early and went with Crystal to Bristol. Today is one month since Ray passed away and the trip over was bittersweet. I, of course, kept an eye on the clock knowing where I was and what was happening just one short month ago.
Thursday afternoon I went to the Buchanan County Humane Society office to help sort the yard sale items and ended up bringing two 3 week old kittens to bottle feed and care for. My house is getting a little noisier and I think that’s good for me.
I also stopped and got an inspection sticker on the truck. Ray told me on the way to Bristol that day I needed to stop and get a sticker, I finally remembered.
I told a friend the other day I’m starting to come out of the fog I’ve been in. I’m remembering things that happened, some good, some bad. Hopefully as time passes I’ll remember more of the good things and the bad stuff will fade away.
I helped Saturday morning at the Buchanan County Humane Society pet food pantry for three hours, baby steps. I was nervous thinking about talking to people. Sounds ridiculous but getting back out there is hard.
I was a little late getting there and before I arrived there were a couple of people being very rude to our volunteers. We do not get paid for doing this, we just love animals and are there to help. Just be nice people.
I still haven’t started the thank you cards, I will eventually. But I’m remembering things that I was so touched by. Joe and the two troopers that folded the flag and presented it to Amelia were so beautiful, so overwhelming. I was looking at her when he handed it to her. I’ll never forget the look on her face.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
Psalm 37:24 KJV
I am OK…
