Southern Gap senior Leah Rasnake delivered a dominant all-around performance Monday, Sept. 15, helping the Eagles earn a four-set non-district volleyball victory over Honaker at AP Baldwin Gymnasium.
Rasnake finished with a match-high 20 kills while adding 11 digs and three aces as Southern Gap defeated the Tigers 3-1.
“I think what really led to our win was everyone doing their part and fighting for every point,” Rasnake said. “My teammates did a great job getting me the ball, and I was able to stay aggressive at the net and take advantage of my opportunities. I was just trusting myself and swinging hard, and I’m really proud of the way we played together.”
While Rasnake powered the Eagles’ attack, Southern Gap received contributions throughout its lineup.
Adyson Bell handed out 16 assists and recorded seven kills, while Bela Hurley added 15 assists. Lucy Savage finished with seven kills and three aces, and Madison Lester contributed seven kills, four digs and four aces.
Claire Griffey anchored the defense with 25 digs, while Megan Hess added five kills.
