GRUNDY, Va. — A Buchanan County grand jury returned 78 indictments against 36 people during its July 13 session, according to records filed in Buchanan County Circuit Court. The indictments include allegations involving drug possession, welfare fraud, burglary, larceny, assault, child neglect, driving offenses and other criminal offenses.
Buchanan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Nikki Stiltner said her office remains focused on protecting the community while working alongside local law enforcement.
“Our office remains committed to putting the families of Buchanan County first, pursuing justice every day, and working alongside our dedicated law enforcement partners to keep our community safe,” Stiltner said.
Those indicted by the grand jury include:
Kristian Hurley — one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance and one count of knowingly making a false application for assistance.
Terry Wayne Wolford — one count each of possession of buprenorphine/naloxone, possession of gabapentin and possession of methamphetamine.
Timmy Ray Waters — one count of reckless driving after allegedly disregarding a police command to stop.
Billy Ray Viars — one count of obstruction of justice, one count of possession of methamphetamine and two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer.
Mickey Dwayne Stacy — two counts of grand larceny and one count of damaging property valued at $1,000 or more.
Miranda Nicole Miller — one count of possession of methamphetamine.
Kaneesa Lynn McClanahan — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Donald Christopher McClanahan — possession of Suboxone, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle.
Kenneth Ray Matney — one count of possession of gabapentin and one count of possession of methamphetamine.
Jimmy Stewart Justus — one count of driving on a suspended or revoked license, one count of possession of alprazolam and one count of possession of methamphetamine.
Gladys Jennings — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Keith Brett James — one count of entering school property after being convicted of a violent sex offense.
Marvin Craig Hibbitts — possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of buprenorphine and possession of methamphetamine.
Melissa Ann Hardin — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
William Bryant Gibson — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Angie Gibson — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Alexander K. Dotson — one count of obstruction of justice and one count of child neglect.
Aaron Joseph Cook — one count of possession of fentanyl.
Terry Lee Coleman — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Courtney Danielle Coleman — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Audria Rene Coleman — one count of possession of methamphetamine.
David Childers — one count of conspiracy to commit burglary and one count of statutory burglary.
Christopher Edward Catron — one count of driving on a suspended or revoked license and one count of driving while intoxicated, third offense within 10 years.
Erica Nicole Burkes — one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance and one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance.
Rebecca Brown — one count of possession of methamphetamine.
William Eric Blankenship — one count of obtaining money by false pretenses involving less than $1,000, one count of uttering a forged check and one count of forgery.
David Lee Blankenship — one count of obstruction of justice and two counts of child neglect.
Samantha Adkins — two counts of simple assault and one count of statutory burglary.
Melissa Adkins — one count of conspiracy to commit burglary and one count of statutory burglary.
Keisha Adkins — one count of fraudulently obtaining $1,000 or more in welfare assistance and one count of knowingly making a false application for public assistance.
Andrew Hassell Hess — one count of malicious wounding. The indictment alleges Hess stabbed, cut or otherwise wounded another person with the intent to maim, disfigure, disable or kill.
Jonathan Shane Spence — one count each of hunting, trapping or fishing without a required license, trespassing with intent to damage or interfere with property and grand larceny.
Wesley Allen Burke — one count of trespassing with intent to damage or interfere with property and one count of grand larceny.
Todd Matthew Lane — one count of burning personal property valued at less than $1,000.
Matthew William Slone — one count of burning personal property valued at less than $1,000 and one count of obtaining more than $1,000 by false pretenses.
Maryetta Earlene Casey Fuller (identified in the indictments as Maryetta Earlene Casey) — one count each of failure to appear, common-law trespassing, simple assault and damaging property valued at $1,000 or more.
